Should I buy a Mitsubishi EVO?
Dilemma. My current car (2002 impreza WRX – yes, this is my actual car) comes off lease in September.
I need to buy a new car for the wife for ‘future planning’. I love doing tarmac rallies (check out www.duttonrally.com for a great time – no, not porn, just the most fun you can have on 4 wheels).
I think the solution might be a Mitsubishi EVO Lancer. I know there are a few around the place in Australia that Ralliart put together as a ‘club spec’ with a built in roll cage, extinguishers and a few other little addon goodies. 60k or thereabous would get me into one of these, or I can buy out my current car (way cheaper) and maybe spend a few dollars on it.
Ohhh, the dilemma!!! Id love the new car, but should probably save the money. The EVO would handle better, be faster out of the box, and has no wear and tear.
But my trusty WRX could be modified a little to go a bit faster, and perform a little better.
I think if I left the Subaru camp, I could feel a little guilty. After al, the WRX has been a great car. Maybe I suggest to my wife that she keeps the Subie and we buy an EVO too. Best of both worlds….
